Carol Meikleham BA Statement: I enjoy painting in such a way as to allow the colour and paint to unconsciously and accidentally develop into a painting. Inspiration and accident is then tightened up allowing a loose imaginative sea and land to materialise. Colour sets the mood and time of day. Paint splashing represents Sea spray, sand, energy and  movement, Sea Bird movements echo sound and the wind. Pallet knives create thick impasto effects.. creating texture. I work  from imagination and or my photographs impressions and memories.

Carol Meikleham BA.  I love to paint in Acrylic, Watercolour, Ink Pen, Ink Pencil and Artist's Print. I like to walk  observe and photograph birds and animals, which  l  develop into  paintings using memory sketching and photography. I enjoy painting the Scottish Seashore in all its moods, using colour,  impasto, and accidental painterly effects, using brush and then Palette Knives.  Most of my Seascaps are painted from memories, impressions and unconsiouse thoughts, of Scottish Seashores, which are finalised  and detailed at the end.   Sea birds echo wind and sound within my seascapes.  I also love nature insects and flowers so I am a  keen gardener,  my garden also becomes paintings.
I am a mature Graduate, I gained all my qualifications at night school and  outreach school, in-between part time work as a shop assistant. I gained O'Levels and Higher's at night school moving into outreach later, then taster courses then Higher Psychology,  Higher Art, and advanced Higher Art, progressing to HND at Falkirk College.I found out I was Dyslexic at the age of 50 years. I am a feminist and believe in equality for all.
I have culminated my studies within Forth Valley College, gaining  a Degree (June 2012) in Art and Design.
